Postpartum Support Intern

Position Overview: 

Parenting Resources is currently hiring 1-2 Postpartum Support Interns! This is an ideal opportunity for a doula, social worker, or other individual interested in gaining more skills in working with new mothers. You'll gain unmatched experience, meet any required hours for your program if applicable, and build a resume that will impress future employers, agencies, and clients.


  • 2-4 hours a week minimum- can be increased to specific amount to meet program requirements
  • Occasional special outreach events
  • Quarterly team meetings

  • Passion for working with new moms and their babies
  • Inclusive of all parenting styles and choices
  • Warm, welcoming, and accepting attitude and demeanor
  • Foundational knowledge of the needs and special issues surrounding the postpartum experience
  • Exemplary communication and teaching skills
  • Culturally competent

Tasks May Include:

  • Facilitation and co-facilitation of groups for new moms
  • Outreach events at mom expos
  • Assisting our experts at new mom classes
  • Assisting our experts during filming helpful videos and webinars for new moms
  • Shadowing team members
  • Assisting at professional postpartum related classes
  • Development of programming
  • Moderation and answering questions in prenatal and new mom Facebook groups
  • General office and tasks needed to be completed by the center
  • Local travel may be expected

Pay & Benefits:

This is an unpaid intern position

Work is supervised by Mastered leveled owners and operators

Play & Learn Club Membership is included, if you have children

This is NOT a bring your child to work position, but it may be possible to bring a lap infant, dependent on the applicant and ability to manage the challenge of performing tasks with their child present. This can be discussed in further detail at interview.
