Resource Center Assistant

Position Overview:
Parenting Resources is currently hiring a Resource Center Assistant. We are seeking a responsible, outgoing, friendly, timely, self- starter who is HIGHLY organized and systems oriented who will be a Jack/Jill/Person of all trades around Parenting Resources. The Resource Center Assistant will be responsible for some personal assistant tasks for the owners, general administrative tasks, and general center tasks. The Resource Center Assistant will work closely with the managing owner as a cohesive team and will be expected to take on many of the daily tasks that the managing owner is currently performing.

Schedule:

Currently seeking coverage for most Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00-1:00 and one or two full weekdays from 9-4. There may also be additional hours required that can be easily done from home with a computer and phone on the employee's schedule. There may be potential for additional hours in the future.

Personal and executive assistant tasks:

  • Personal errands for owners
  • Personal and professional appointment making 
  • Managing personal and business calendars
  • Attending meetings and note taking as needing
  • Treating meeting agendas and minutes
  • Order placements
  • Invoice submissions and follow up
  • Other misc tasks

General Center tasks:

  • Mingling with members
  • Giving Tours to prospective members
  • Running and/or supervising simple classes such as reading team, finger painting, bubbles, garden time, etc
  • Providing exemplary customer service 
  • Light housekeeping (sweeping, wiping down windows, bathroom, dishes, etc)
  • Toy sanitizing
  • Straightening indoor and outdoor space
  • Watering plants in garden space
  • Organizing space
  • Occasional outreach assistance at events
  • Other misc tasks

General Admin tasks:

  • Basic data entry
  • Basic copy writing and proofreading
  • Basic filing, mailing, and other administrative tasks
  • Updating website
  • Assistance with PR's online classroom
  • Class date entry on various event websites
  • Managing membership and class registrations

Other tasks may be added to this job description throughout the course of employment. The Resource Center Assistant must be willing to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities as they arise.

This is not a "bring your child to work" position

music teacher

Position Overview: 

Parenting Resources is currently hiring a Music Teacher. We are seeking a responsible, outgoing, friendly, timely, self- starter who is able to develop and manage a class with ages 0-6, with a focus on older infants through older toddlers, with caregivers present. May also have opportunity for a drop off class for preschoolers, dependent on interest

Schedule:

  • 1-2 classes per week- one on a weekday morning and possibly one on a Saturday morning
  • Quarterly team meetings
  • Occasional special events, as needed
  • Potential for more classes if interest dictates

Traits and Experience Desired:

  • Experienced in teaching or performing music
  • Experience in teaching or performing for small children
  • Timely and responsible
  • Flexible and laid back
  • Basic ability to use computers and tablets 
  • Desire to build and grow your class
  • Friendly, welcoming, and able to mingle with members and prospective members 
  • Fun loving and able to interact with babies and small children
  • Culturally competent and inclusive, as our clientele is diverse in race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, family make up, and parenting style
  • Ability to play a musical instrument is a plus but not required

Expected Tasks May Include:

  • Planning and execution of music class
  • Straightening up after students after class
  • Arriving at least 15 minutes before class for set up and staying until students leave, if applicable
  • May have some basic center opening or closing tasks, depending on class time
  • Providing exemplary customer service to current and prospective members
  • Building and growing your class to increase attendance
  • Processing payments and memberships as needed

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is $20 per class. No insurance benefits are offered at this time. 

This is a subcontracted position

Play & Learn Club Membership is included, if you have children

This may be a bring your child to work position, if applicable, dependent on the applicant and ability to manage the challenge of running a class with their child present. This can be discussed in further detail at interview.

SPANISH teacher

Position Overview: 

Parenting Resources is currently hiring a Spanish Teacher to develop a fun kid-friendly Spanish Explorers class here at our center. We are seeking a responsible, outgoing, friendly, timely, self- starter who is able to manage a class with older toddlers and preschoolers. The class may be with caregivers present and/or drop-off

Schedule:

  • Saturday class
  • Quarterly team meetings required
  • Occasional special events, as needed
  • Potential for more classes if interest dictates

Traits and Experience Desired:

  • Experienced in teaching spanish 
  • Experience in teaching or working with small children
  • Timely and responsible
  • Flexible and laid back
  • Basic ability to use computers and tablets 
  • Desire to build and grow your class
  • Friendly, welcoming, and able to mingle with members and prospective members 
  • Fun loving and able to interact with babies and small children
